Roe & Rail

Brasside at dusk
3 Roe out feeding, I drove round, parked up, climbed onto the truck in time to watch them slowly cross the road 35' away. Another was clipped by a car at the weekend.

Owl-wise very poor, with only a single Little, but a small flock of 9 White-fronted Geese south towards Brasside.

A recent trip to Sundland Bridge with no Hawfinch, but good selection of species with Brambling, Kingfisher, Dipper, views of 3 maybe 4 Water Rail.

Better still as I was walking off at dusk, a Jack Snipe sitting in an open bare patch of mud, only 6' away ! Sadly too dull for the iPhone, but a step back produced stunning views through the bins !

An appointment at 10:00 saw me over at Boldon Flats for 8-ish , sadly too late for the Beans & White-fronts which are flying out at dusk to feed - but their daylight feeding spot remains unknown....

Wouldn't mind finding those Beans somewhere in the Sundland area ...
