1st Nest of 2013 - 1st Twitch of 2013

 - must be all the Love songs they hear on the petrol garage forecourt, that gets them in the mood year-round.....

Yesterday we caught up with Waxwings on the scenic route back from school
& another twitch today, 14mile trip taking in Redshank and a fine Long tailed Duck

The warm midday sun pulled the Buzzards up with a kettle of 8 up over the estate.
Im 99% sure i had LSW calling, but will have to go back & get closer 

Wax work

Knocked the saw off, lifted the earmuff away to hear a distinctive trilling - a Waxwing in the adjacent garden.

It had its pick of Rowans & a mass of berries to go at - that was untill Mr Missel Thrush returned & off it went heading for the Sorbus collection at Houghall.

A large Alder held an acrobatic flock of Goldfinch & Siskin, with a rather dainty sun-lit Prunus Kanzan looked well in blossom, especially so as it held a pair of Bullfinch.

A pair of Collared Dove went in & out of the Leylandii's - a return visit later in the week & we'll see what they're up to.
