Wearmouth for Ice's

Having read up on gulls on The Fog Blog, & working at Fulwell, i ventured to Roker Pier armed with a loaf of white sliced.

Absolute doddle - 4 Iceland Gulls seen no bother in the mouth of the river.

First Winter, two second winters & the regular adult.

I bumped into Roker Martin & pointed out 3 of the birds roosting together to the north of the Inner Pier - while he scanned the distant south pier.

How long will it be before we start to get them regularly up the river....?
