Got a Cob on
Two evenly matched male Mutes battling it out at Flushing Meadows
After 10-15 mins, no surprise that both were tiring
In the reedbed close by their mates were knocking lumps out of each other too !
One Pen broke away & then it became 2 onto 1 ..... exit 1 Cob into the reedbed were he became trapped....
Both his assailants clambered onto him, the male bird seemingly trying to drown the victim, but he kept losing grip of its neck.
After another 5 mins, he looked very sorry for himself, minus several feathers, but lived to tell the tail as the dominant pair swam off looking for the other female !
