Trilling and Spawning

A distinct rise in temperature seeing the first local Dabchicks move back onto a breeding pool last night, 2 pairs in summer plumage excitedly trilling loudly between dives - amazing sound, the first time ive heard it for about 4 months.

This morning spied our first Frog spawn of the season - we mulled over whether "it" can survive being iced over.... but couldnt remember .......?

Additional signs of spring activity from Weardale th'uther day including
singing Marsh Tit
tumbling Pewit
Golden Plovers singing in display flights
