a Sack load of birds around the local area over the last week or so :-
Topping the list were Lesser Spotted Woodpecker & Yellow legged Gull with an excellent supporting cast including Whooper Swan, Jack Snipe, Green Sandpiper, Hen Harrier, Barn Owl, Mandarin, Water Rail, Merlin, Mediterranean Gull, Crossbill, Mealy Redpoll, Corn Bunting
Barn Owl taking some finding, Woodcocks in limited numbers as yet, a very good year for both eared Owls, Bramblings invisible, wild geese seem to have moved out, Long tailed, Willow Tit & Bullfinch in excellent numbers. Most notable are Tree Sparrow - these seem to be aiming for world domination with 3 or 4 three figure flocks.
