Girl Runner

A pleasant Sunday stroll round the patch ( with some running )

A nice selection with high-lights of Peregrine, Little Owl, 4Woodcock, pr Great Spotted Woodpecker, 2Jay, 150Greenfinch, Water Rail, 200Linnet, Hen Harrier, several Short-eared Owl, 25Tree Sparrow, Skylark & Meadow Pipit on the move, with singles of Long-eared & Barn Owl, 1+Mealy Redpoll, 6Willow Tit, 200Fieldfare, Kingfisher etc etc

Heres a spot were i disturbed 3 Roe Deer - you can see where 1 had been laid down, towards top left of image.

An interesting location for an old nest, in an old tin - maybe a Robin or a thrush

An ex-Hedgehog - im pretty sure this has been turned inside out & eaten by a Fox.....

A scoped check of a Leo nest tub reveals it filled with dry leaves & fresh pine branches - sure sign that a Grey Squirrel is in occupation...

An area of game cover held a mixed flock of 100's of finches - mostly Linnet & Greenfinch & attracting a ringtail in.

NB: Always remember to keep to the track & off private property when youre in the countryside - unless you have permission - YOU Never know who's watching......
Perfumed Ponce
Had i thought on, it could have very easily been a 5 owl day - didnt think on till typing...

It was nice to have seen 2 Kingfisher in 2days - me & the bairn had 1 at close range between Browns Boathouse & Baths Bridge while cycling down into Durham City yesterday.
